This is what happens when a community comes together for one of its own.
Yesterday, Blue Line Unlimited had the honor of meeting with Hambden Fire Captain Tim Tobin to present him with a check for $100,000—an incredible show of support made possible by donors near and far.
In November, Captain Tobin and his daughter were severely injured in a devastating house explosion that resulted in significant burns and the loss of their home and belongings. Just a few weeks ago, he was released from the hospital and continues his long road to recovery.
Blue Line Unlimited pledged $100,000 from the proceeds of our Bronco raffle to support Captain Tobin. Thanks to additional donations from our community and supporters across the country, we were able to exceed that commitment and present a total of $106,250 to help ease the financial burden facing the Tobin family.
As Chief Hildenbrand shared, “The people in this community — and across the country, quite frankly — have been fantastic.”
For Captain Tobin, the impact of that support is deeply personal. “I’m starting from scratch, so I have bills and everything,” he said. “Medical bills are astronomical. This is such a big help for me.” He added, “Everything that you’ve done has hit me emotionally.”
This moment represents more than a donation—it reflects the strength of a community that stands behind those who serve.
At Blue Line Unlimited, our mission is to support first responders through hardship, recovery, and beyond. Standing with Captain Tobin and his family is exactly why we do what we do.
To those who supported Captain Tobin and our mission to serve him, thank you.
